POIEO contributed to the creation of The Story, a Visio Divina publication produced with Tap Mundy Park Church. With creative direction and management by Young Tae Choi, design by Jeremy Kang, and photography by Calvin Lee, the project blended Scripture, art, and reflection into a beautiful spiritual resource.

POIEO curated a unique exhibition at Kent Gallery (Vancouver, 2024) exploring the relationship between human creativity and AI. Using emerging tools, the exhibition invited viewers to reflect on what it means to create in an age of rapid technological change.

Gayoung Yang, one of our longtime members and a valued sponsor, supervised VFX for the award-winning Netflix series Carmen Sandiego and contributed to the Apple animation series Snoopy. Her work reflects the level of excellence and global impact represented within the POIEO community.

POIEO invested in the early development of Jesus Loves Me, founded by our member Yong Pil Choi. This venture has since grown into a thriving children’s sound-book company, with its interactive Bible-song books Jesus Loves Me becoming top-selling titles on Amazon US. The series has also received notable recognition, including the Mom’s Choice Award for excellence, making Hello 2 Kids a highly trusted and well-loved resource for young children and their families.

Jeremy Bonggu Kang, our art director, designed the award-winning wine package Saintly Flavours, which received eight international design awards. His achievement showcases the level of excellence and creativity represented within the POIEO community.

Silas Lee, one of our longtime members, launched a Korean pop vocal academy in Coquitlam, B.C., which has grown into one of the leading vocal training centres in BC. Silas Music has helped develop professional singers, artists, and final trainees for major labels such as SM and HYBE, while also supporting students of all levels—from hobby vocalists to those preparing for professional auditions and exams.

POIEO invested in the development of an artist-care film series designed to offer spiritual support and encouragement to artists. Wait Watch Wonder serves as the teaser episode, featuring Dr. Craig Detweiler, co-founder and president of Wedgwood Circle. This project connects theology, pastoral care, and creative practice to strengthen the well-being of artists.

POIEO invested in the creation of a worship-arts film series exploring the theological depth and significance of the arts in congregational worship. Music in Worship—written by Dr. Michael Bauer of the University of Kansas and featuring local worship leaders—brought together filmmakers, theologians, and practitioners to help viewers understand the essential role of music in corporate worship. This project bridges local creative talent with global scholarship to serve churches and artists alike.

POIEO supported the creation of this beautiful Korean gospel song by Silas Lee. The piece invites listeners to imagine the life of Peter and offers a fresh, minimalistic expression of faith that resonates across cultures.

POIEO’s founder, Young Tae Choi, helped establish and lead a new film festival committee for Missions Fest Vancouver in 2020 and 2021. Together with POIEO members Ga Young Yang, Izumi Araki, and Yong Pil Choi—and supported by over 30 volunteers—the festival welcomed more than 600 attendees and celebrated Christian filmmaking in BC.

POIEO invested in K-pop producer Park Kang-il (Sunggol) to create an uplifting Korean gospel single. The project brought together professional pop production and heartfelt worship, reaching listeners in Korea and abroad.

POIEO’s president, Young Tae Choi, contributed a chapter titled “Arts Ministry Beyond Sunday Worship Service” to the book Christian Witness in Cascadian Soil, edited by Dr. Ross A. Lockhart. The book—now available through Amazon and Cascade Books—highlights innovative models of ministry in the Pacific Northwest and affirms POIEO’s role in shaping conversations around faith, the arts, ministry and culture.

POIEO launched a transformative mentorship program connecting emerging artists with seasoned mentors: Betty Spackman (visual arts), Dylan Jenkinson (film), and Joy Banks (printmaking). Through this program, Margaret Trim and Peter Chung received intentional, personalized guidance that helped strengthen their creative practice and confidence.

POIEO’s founder, Young Tae Choi taught a course on Visual Arts in Worship at Columbia Bible College. Through this course, he equipped students with theological insight and practical creative skills, helping them serve their local ministry contexts with confidence and imagination.

POIEO’s president, Young Tae Choi, provided professional event photography for ALL FOR LOVE, a Valentine’s jazz concert featuring the Vancouver Groove Orchestra and Phil Vanderveen. This lively February 14th event not only celebrated love through music but also supported the Love One Another meals program, which provides weekly dinners for neighbours in need.

POIEO partnered with New Eden Foundation to offer accessible arts workshops for local immigrant families. These sessions created space for creativity, healing, and community-building across cultures.

Yong Pil Choi, one of our members, produced a V-log live production for BTS—the world’s leading K-pop group—during their New York engagement in 2020. This project reflects the global reach and professional excellence of artists within the POIEO community.

POIEO’s president, Young Tae Choi, was invited to lead two seminars for the Korean immigrant church community in Metro Vancouver on church communications strategy and culture-making through the arts. Through these sessions, he equipped Korean young adults with practical ways to use the arts and technology to serve both the church and the wider culture.

POIEO’s president, Young Tae Choi, served as one of the producers for SUMMER, a Canada–Korea co-production TV series funded by Creative BC. Working alongside producers Jin-hoon Lee (East Dream Synopex Ltd), Dylan Jenkinson (Hope of Glory Pictures Ltd), and Crystal Lee, he helped complete the series bible package, with Jeremy Kang contributing to its design. This project reflects POIEO’s commitment to cross-cultural collaboration and creative excellence on an international scale.
